1.POSITION: LECTURER – MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT: DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES
LECTURER – Ref: NM07

Salary Scale: R451 340.00 – R696 944.00 (P8) basic salary per annum.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics.
- At least three years teaching experience.
Recommendations:
- Registered for a PhD in Mathematics.
Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in discharging duties.
- Computer literacy.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
Key Performance Areas:
- Lecture students at undergraduate level.
- Initiate and be involved in community engagement.
- Curriculum and programme development.
- Setting and assessment of exam papers and assessing portfolio of evidence.
- Supervise students at undergraduate levels and undertake research.
- Involvement in departmental research and publications.
- Assist with administrative duties in the department.
- Attendance of developmental workshops for teaching and learning.
- Participate in tutoring and mentoring of students.

2.POSITION: LECTURER – ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Department:Â LIBRARY SERVICES
Position: Lecturer x2 (P8) – Ref: EE03 & EE15

Salary Scale: R451,340.00 – R696,944.00 (P8) basic salary per annum.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree (Electronic or Communication Engineering) with evidence of ongoing research work at a Doctoral level.
- Basic qualification: BTech/BEng/BSc in Electronic or Communication Engineering.
- At least three years of relevant lecturing experience at the university level.
- Evidence of research experience and active participation in professional, industry, and/or community activities.
Recommendations:
- Experience in curriculum development, project management, and academic administrative processes.
- Professional registration with ECSA.
- Minimum one-year suitable industrial project/work experience with engineering scope.
Competencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong technical or professional knowledge and skills on Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Collegiality, ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good organizational skills and commitment to continuous learning.
- Advanced IT computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Coaching and learner-focused approach to developing hands-on skills in student practicals.
Key Performance Areas:
- Conducting engaging teaching and practical sessions.
- Developing lab manuals, course notes, and assessing academic students at Diploma and higher levels.
- Aligning curriculum with 4IR international trends.
- Providing academic student support through progress monitoring and intervention strategies for “at-risk” students.
- Enforcing Occupational Health & Safety Act regulations.
- Continuous professional development in Electronic/Communications Engineering.
- Conducting research, publishing results, and initiating new research areas in the Department.
- Fostering team spirit, collaboration, and contributing to community engagement initiatives.
- Liaising with industry and facilitating cooperative education initiatives, forming industrial alliances, and partnerships.
