1.Position: Manager – Project Management and Building Control
Directorate: Technical Services – Piketberg
Closing Date:Â 19 January 2024
Salary:Â R 733 476.00 per annum (T17 of a Category 3 Local Authority) plus Car Allowance
Qualification:
- A relevant National Diploma in Engineering, with extensive experience, and or BTech and registration as a Pr Techni Eng.
- Computer literacy: MS Office
Experience:
- 10 years (Post-registration experience is advantageous)
Requirements:
- Code B driving license
- Proficiency in 2 Western Cape official languages
- Knowledge of MIG and EPWP Administration
- High responsibility and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Conflict resolution skills
- Management, supervision, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Computer literacy in office applications and CAD
- Contract and financial management skills
- Team facilitation skills

Job Purpose:
Manage and coordinate planning, finalization, and execution of duties related to:
- Project Management
- Building Control Compliance
- Human Settlement Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Grants Management (MIG and EPWP)
- MISA support (COGTA) management for project teams, contractors, and consultants. Deliver projects per strategic plans.
2.Position: Senior Superintendent – Electrical (2 positions – PB & PV)
Directorate: Technical Services
Closing Date:Â 19 January 2024
Salary:Â R 415 164.00 annually (T13 of a Category 3 Local Authority) plus Essential Motor Scheme and Scare Skills Allowance
Qualification:
- National Engineering Certificate (Electrical Heavy Current) or N4 Trade Test Artisan with Wireman’s Licence (Registered three-phase Installation Tester) at NQF level 5
Experience:
- 8 years’ experience with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory technical position
Requirements:
- Valid Code C1 Driver’s license
- Proficiency in at least two (2) of the official languages in the Western Cape (Read, Write & Speak)
- High level of responsibility
- Good supervision, human relations, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Must be physically fit and able-bodied
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime
- Must perform electrical duties when required
- Must work overtime/do standby
- Must perform duties in the whole area of the municipality when required
- Municipal experience will be an added advantage
Job Purpose: Manage, coordinate, monitor, control, and evaluate the electrical operations and maintenance services of the Piketberg Areas, including the electrical depot, vehicles, tools, spares, equipment, personnel, and clients. Provide sustainable electricity services to the community, including:
- Maintenance of medium voltage networks
- Maintenance of low voltage networks
- Maintenance of substations and transformers
- Provisioning and maintenance of bulk metering, conventional metering, and pre-paid metering
- Protection and mentoring of network and systems
- Maintenance of municipal buildings and equipment
- Maintenance of communication systems
- Maintenance of street lighting
- Planning and construction of minor electrical networks.
